Riddles of Tibia: Legacy of the Explorer’s League - Episode 1

Dear Explorers,

You likely remember our first edition of the League of Explorers back in 2022. Those who participated (over 400 players) had a great time, which is why we had big plans for the second edition. Unfortunately, the scale of this endeavor, the immense amount of work that would have been required, and Mogh's departure have led us to decide not to plan any more editions.

But there's no need to be disheartened. Last year, we managed to prepare 10 riddles that were intended to make up half of the content for the league. However, calling them riddles is an understatement - they are more like quests, and sometimes quite elaborate ones at that. We don’t want them to go to waste and never see the light of day. Therefore, we've decided to publish them in a series of articles. Each episode will feature one large or two smaller riddles, and each subsequent episode will also include the answers to the riddles published earlier.

We deeply regret that our plans for the second edition didn’t work out, but we are confident that the riddles we’ve created will still provide you with great fun. Kudos to Mogh, who is the author of most of them.

The First Quest: Unveil the Hidden Truth of Edron

Adventurer,

Your journey begins with a whisper of a secret, a challenge known only to those with a keen eye and an inquisitive mind. You must uncover a hidden truth concealed within the landscape, but fear not, for I shall guide you.

Step 1: The Image of Revelation

Study closely the image provided above.

Your first and simplest challenge awaits: You must find the location depicted in the image. Consider who might use this unusual mode of transport, and your path will quickly lead you to the right place. 

Were you able to find it? Let's proceed. At first glance, you will notice a sign standing boldly, with a message clear to any who pass by. Yet, there lies another sign, one hidden from the sight of most, visible only to those who know where to look. This sign is located on a specific tile, marked in light green. Approach this tile with caution and try to read the message inscribed upon it. The words will reveal much, but focus only on the first word - this is the key to unlocking the next part of your journey. Only the first word, is what you must remember.
 

Step 2: The Search for the Wise One

With this word etched in your memory, your path now leads you to the fabled island of Edron. Your task is to find the NPC who holds the next piece of this puzzle. Beware, for the island is vast, and not all NPCs will aid you. I can offer you a hint: the one you seek is neither hidden deep underground nor ensconced within the Falcon Bastion’s walls. The NPC you seek may be found within the bustling heart of Edron, or perhaps they wander the quieter outskirts. However, there are some who are too eager to respond to any word, such as Jerom and Guide Jonathan - these are not the ones you seek.

Approach the right NPC and speak the word you have uncovered earlier. Should the NPC respond to this word, you will know you have found the right person.
 

Step 3: The Final Answer

Once you have identified the NPC, ask them about "Tibia". Listen carefully to their response, for the last word they speak in reply will be the final password you seek - a 5-letter word.

The Second Quest: The Enigmatic Words of Tibia

You are about to embark on a quest of perception and wit, one that will test your ability to uncover hidden truths scattered across the vast world of Tibia. Your mission is to seek out specific objects within the game, each bearing words of great significance. These words have been obscured, hidden beneath red rectangles in the images provided below.
 

Step 1: Seek the Hidden Messages

Within each image, you will find an object that contains a message - a word that has been concealed. Your first task is to locate these objects in various locations throughout Tibia. Once you have found the objects in-game, carefully observe the hidden words beneath the red rectangles.

Step 2: Assemble the Secret Password

The order in which you arrange these words is crucial. Begin with the word from the first image, followed by the word from the second image, and so on. Some images may hold two hidden words - if you encounter such an image, you must take both words in the sequence they appear. Be sure to separate each word with a space. Together, these words will form a secret password.

A Hint: The password does not need to make logical sense, but it should form a very peculiar sentence that will make you question your very sanity:
