This is one of the articles that was submitted to the Secrets of Tibia 3 contest and won the 6th place. It was written by Anakynsaurio.

Succession

As we all know, the Thaian Kings are direct descendants of Banor, which is the very first human in Tibia. That solely means that no other race can ever be king of the Thaian kingdom, as basically the direct descendants of Banor are all humans.

Did Banor populate Tibia mating with another race (Was Kirana an Elf)?

The journey of this Lore exploration begins in the Isle of Kings, which as confirmed by many sources, being one of them Costello, that the Isle of Kings is the crypt where all kings and noble members of the royal family are buried. From TibiaWiki we can learn that there are only 6 kings in the history of Thais. However, that is a very mistaken fact. If each tomb room (there are more than one coffin in each tomb room) below The Isle of King’s crypt corresponds to a king, then there are at least 68 kings who died and were buried in the crypt.

Costello: The deceased leaders of the Thaian empire rest beneath this monastery in tombs and crypts.

And so on…

Also, in the Secret Service Quest, AVIN will send you to a tomb to retrieve a signet ring, which most likely has the seal of the royal family, and the CGB will send you to retrieve a book, which will help them to have proof of the royal blood for some noble families living in Carlin.

I like the fact that this number represents oportunities for Tibia to enhance the Lore of the Thaian Kings as much as they want.

To me, time is useless in Tibia. We’d better track it by placing the events of tibia around important events. Such as the reign of each known Thaian Kings.

Chapter 1 – The foundation of Thais

Warrior Leader Thais

Where today we can find the city of Thais, there was once a small trading hamlet called Tradespot. Its location was perfect, and this frequently visited trading post soon became known as one of the best trading places across the whole Tibia Continent. Warriors were always welcome. They were generally offered the best food and the finest places to rest, in the hope of persuading them to stay, ready to protect the city in case of an attack. One of the bravest of these warriors was a man named Thais. Thais was a very charismatic individual, he managed to gather an army of warriors under his command and was ready to defend Tradespot whenever the orcs decided to attack. He was quickly accepted as a leader by many and was usually the first to provide the necessary protection for the settlement, and  so Tradespot rapidly became a refuge for all the humans in the area. Thais and his warriors fought many battles against the orcs. Even at old age, Thais refused to leave the fighting to younger men. And sadly, one day, he died in the arms of his son Tibianus in his last battle.

King Tibianus I

Tibianus, not quite as charismatic as his father, rallied all the warriors around him, destined to avenge his father's death and to become the new leader of the warriors. Thanks to clever political moves, he managed to keep his father's army strong, and the citizens of Tradespot accepted his rule. Tibianus was crowned King of Tradespot, thus becoming the first king of Thais.

King Tibianus I renamed the city to Thais in memory of his father. Being the only king around, he also took the liberty of declaring Thais the capital of the Tibia Continent. Despite his reputation as a fierce warrior, he turned out to be quite a responsible leader and even established cultural life in the city. Thais continued to prosper under his rule, and the Thaian legion became the most powerful army, which allowed for further expansion. During this time, many knightly and spiritual orders rose and also declined. Thais had become a bustling city that attracted many people of all kind, both poor and rich.

Later into King Tibianus I reign, some of the people of the realm did not agree with Tibianus’s kingship and left Thais to found the Dead Kingdom of Kormarak.

…Wait, what?!

We need to talk about Kormarak and Mintwallin (Part 1).

There is absolutely no information in-game or in Tibia teasers and forums that can confirm this fact. Nevertheless, I have seen this information related to who founded Kormarak being quoted in most of the fansites. So, I decided to look for the source of that piece of information.

To find it, I went to the first source I thought I would get a response, and that was TibiaWiki. Wouterboy is a TibiaWiki administrator that maintains many of the TibiaWiki inputs, including the Kings entries that includes information about Kormarak. I asked Wouterboy and he told me that he got that info from another guy, Julian Brightside, a talented tibia lore explorer and artist from almost 10 years ago. Julian actually keeps a profile in DevianArt where he uploaded a famous image of the Tibia timeline.

In this timeline, we can find the source of information of the following claims:

  1. Kormarak was built by dwarves long long ago.
  2. The Dwarves abandoned Kormarak for unknown reasons.
  3. Thaian separatists find this settlement and found the kingdom of Kormarak
  4. Minotaurs invade Kormarak while still occupied by humans, casting them away and renaming the place as Mintwallin.
  5. Only a few humans made it out alive.
  6. The King of Kormarak dies fighting and is reanimated as an undead creature.
  7. Now called Mintwallin, Markwin starts his reign of the Minotaurs.

My friends, all of the above statements are not true. I asked Julian about the sources of these claims to which he replied this:

It was based on a bit of a fanfic that there was an older civilization that stretched between Thais to Venore, featuring parts of the desert.

It has been 9 years since i made this. Not all info might still be useful.

I think there were books in Thais, Kings isle, Desert Temple and Mintwallin that talked about this.

Anything in the age of myth might as well be legends and folk tales.” – Julian Brightside.

Now then, if all of the above is not true, then who built Kormarak?

This is just my theory: Let’s review the real facts about this place.

When you talk to Chester Kahs, he would say this:

Anakynsaurio: demon

Chester Kahs: They say there are just two of them in the underground ruins! Such fools! There are dozens of them, and most of them much stronger than these two!

Anakynsaurio: underground ruins

Chester Kahs: We have no clue what happened to the civilization that once dwelled underground, but their complete extinction should be a warning to us!

I do believe he is talking about the kingdom of Kormarak, but we must separate Kormarak from Mintwallin, as I do believe that the people from Kormarak didn’t even make it to Mintwallin to begin with.

There is also a book within the Ancient Temple called “Two Enemies”. This book talks about a race that was defeated by the “evil humans” and is trying to retreat into new caves to the east. But they encountered the dark minotaurs who would protect their caverns, so they would need to fight these “two enemies”.

There are only two real options for which race wrote this book: Orcs or Trolls. The Orcs do have presence around the caves of the ancient temple, and the book can be found in an Orc camp so this might be the real option, as of the Trolls, they are nowhere to be found near the ancient temple… Unless you go east enough.

East of Kormarak (where the king is buried), there are two battlefields, one is Orcs vs Minotaurs and the other is Minotaurs vs Trolls.

Orcs vs Minotaurs

Trolls vs Minotaurs

So, what happened and who wrote the book?

The book was written by the Trolls. There is absolutely no other book written by Orcs in the whole game, no chatty Orc NPCs , nothing. Orcs don’t tend to document their deeds, and if they do it would be written in their orc language, not in English.

On the other hand, Trolls do tend to write books. Some are in perfect English; some others are not. But they do document their lives somehow.

The Trolls are the ones who built and settled in Kormarak from the beginning, but not only that, they built the place with the help of the Bonelords.

Remember this place? Bonelord’s architecture. Skulls in the walls.

Un bano con un inodoro

Kormarak architecture.

The Orcs’ nature is to invade and destroy, so the presence of Orcs in these places is just an orcish invasion winning territory over the Trolls and the Minotaurs. The place where we can find the “two enemies” book was abandoned by the Trolls due to the attacks of the “evil human” and it was before the Orcs invaded.

Besides, an Orc would never refer to humans as “evil humans”. Trolls would.

So…

  1. Kormarak was not a human settlement, it was a Troll settlement.
  2. Separatists did not leave Thais to found a new kingdom (At least not in Tibianus I reign).
  3. The place is originally Minotaur territory that has been invaded by Trolls (first), Orcs, and evil humans.
  4. Trolls were just trying to move as east as possible.

This theory has its weaknesses but refusing that Kormarak and Mintwallin were the same kingdom is the first step to find the truth about the Dead Kingdom of Kormarak.

Chapter 2 – The Inquisition times

King Rodmund II

Even though, the inquisition is still working under the Thaian Kingdom, this part of history is why Tibia needed an Inquisition to handle the unholy topics in the first place. It is unclear how many generations of kings sat on the Thaian throne between Tibianus I and the inquisition birth times. However, the inquisition birth times begin with the father of King Rodmund II who had a relatively stable kingdom.

At some point, the father of King Rodmund II (Probably King Rodmund I) died unexpectedly, leaving a young sick boy heir to the throne. However, he was not in age to be crowned so the council decided to name a cousin as King regent until Rodmund II came to age to receive the crown. During this time, the priests Wisbert and Madol, who were heads of the curches of Uman and Zathroth respectively guided Rodmund II into the Kingship, which calmed the nobles for the wellbeing to the kingdom.

During this time, there was a dinner where the court invited some nobles to dine with the prince-king Rodmund II. A nobleman, Dargen, was there for the dinner where he met Count Allstio, who allegedly was building a crypt-like retreat in the green claw swamp. Count Allstio was later known to be a Vampire and that makes Allstio a suspect for murder to the father of King Rodmund II.

In the third year of the reign of prince-king Rodmund II it was exposed that the priests of Zathroth planned to assassinate the young king and usurp the kingship. Fast but in secrecy the first Inquisition was formed under the lead of grand priest Wisbert from the temple of Uman who was chief advisor of the uncrowned, 15-year-old Rodmund.

The outcome of the creation of the Inquisition was the great purge of Zathrothi followers. The Inquisition ended up burning Madol the Priest to the church of Zathroth at the stake north of Thais.

King Rodmund II’s coronation happened a year after the purge lead by Wisbert, but he had to live reclusive and under the vigilance of The Inquisition and the church of Banor as there were still many assassination attempts by the remaining Zathrothi cultists.

King Rodmund’s father had a Knight who would do all his dirty work every time he needed. His name was Magnor Mourbringer. Magnor Mourbringer was more a mystic and philosopher than a Knight and he aspired to become a Sorcerer. However, his father forced him into becoming a Knight. Every time he faced a battle, he would rely on his sorcery by enchanting his weapons as well as parts of his body allowing him to win his battles. Magnor was untouchable thanks to the favor of his king. A perk he lost once the king died and not his sickly son, but a far cousin was named King regent. Once King Rodmund II was finally crowned, he restored Magnor’s honor and had him have a proper burial.

Rewar the Bloody was another Knight who lived in the times of King Rodmund II. He was a petty man of intrigue with aspiration to become king. He was a liar and often tried to claim deeds he did not achieve. One of those deeds was to claim the killing of a dragon, but it was a shepherd who killed it. Infuriated, Rewar demanded a trial by combat thinking it would be easy to take down a simple shepherd. But the shepherd took a Knight as a champion to fight Rewar. When Rewar learned about this, he fled the court the night before the trial and hid in a remote castle at the border. When Rodmund II took the kingship, Rewar came back to the kingdom and bought his pardon from the young king dodging the accusations and finally, dying of old age.

King Ottremar

A successor of King Rodmund II, not clear how many generations of kings after him, was King Ottremar. King Ottremar had two sons Paron and Olbret. Paron was destined to be the successor to the kingship. However, Olbret was a jealous man and wanted to take the throne. With promises of power, he allied himself with agents of the secret church of Zathroth to kill his older brother Paron. However, by chance or divine intervention of the gods, the inquisition discovered the plot and arrested Olbret. But by then he already managed to place a potent poison for Paron to who died within a week, despite all efforts of healers and clergy.

When King Ottremar died, he had no more available sons to take the throne, so a distant cousin of him, Zelos was named King of Thais.

King Zelos

When King Zelos was crowned, many nobles despised his kingship and the realm was close to an open rebellion, so he had to dedicate himself to the studies of the kings that had come and gone in the past. Soon, books were not enough to learn how to rule a kingdom, so he decided to go for the source instead. He consulted with spiritists, shamans and even necromancers to summon the spirits of the kings to act as his advisors. Zelos turned not only to the advice of his ancestors, but almost any spiritual entity that was willing to listen and teach. Some of those spirits were more persistent and did not leave once called into the world. Zelos started hearing voices and whispers all day and even in his sleep, driving him crazy.

Many of King Zelos subjects where not happy with Zelos necromant activities, so Zelos had to do something about it. He provoked the orcs to attack the realm and took the nobles’ armies to crush the orcs. As the nobles’ armies were occupied with the orcs, Zelos used his state troops and seized noble families and brought them as hostages into the capital. He executed many of these nobles to make an example of them, so the nobles gave in, demilitarizing the nobles.

Zelos had eliminated the civil war and minor rebellions thread with this move, and raised his taxes to get more troops and began to rule with iron fist.

Zelos became a collector of magic artifacts, which granted him insights into the plans of his enemies. He would regularly consult spirits and manifested ghosts as advisors. Between those ghosts, we can find people like Count Vlarkorth a Knight granted with the secret of eternal youth, Lord Azaram a renowned Knight who died in a swamp escaping with a damsel in his arms, Sir Baeloc and Sir Nictros two violent gifted knights and brothers, Duke Krule a coward knight who would only pick easy targets, The Red Knight who was born in a noble family lead by a vampire, Rewar the Bloody a petty man of intrigue with aspiration to become king, Magnor Mourbringer who served well the father of Rodmund II, and Earl Osam. Being surrounded withdrawn in his tower by that kind of company and taking advice from them, King Zelos became the ghost King. He also recruited nefarious Knights such as Nargol the Impaler, who was a disgraced knight of an unimportant noble family, he was a sellsword, violent, drunken, coward man. One of his jobs as a sellsword was to be a bodyguard of a spirit speaker, that the King Zelos was using to speak with the spirits. At a seance, Nargol pledged his sword to the King, which later accepted and proved to be quite effective in his new role. He became chief enforcer of Zelos. The king was happy with his reputation of needless cruelty and violence. In the king’s service, Nargol took several injuries and mutilations, which Zelos stitched him repeatedly, even replacing parts of his body with magical substitutes. In his last days, Nargol would seem more and more a thing than a man, almost a mindless instrument fused with his armour and weapons. When the ghost king perished, Nargol just stopped functioning standing motionless on his horse. He was stored away at a secret place. After a while, they devided to properly bury him because people feared he would rise again.

Many years later, during the reign King Tibianus III, the Inquisition found out about an organization named The Shiron’Fal. This organization sought to summon King Zelos for him to become a grave danger to humanity. Death Cultists of the Shiron’Fal would seek to raise these Knights from death to become King Zelos’ Lich Knights.

The purges of this inquisition often targeted the very same sources on which he himself once so heavily relied upon and many confiscated talismans and objects found their way into his hands. At some point he shut himself off from the public completely. Yet while he received food and water, his only contact with the outside world took place via ghost messengers or him attending council meetings remotely, due to arcane devices. In the 98th year of his unnatural long reign a still devoted branch of the inquisition breached his tower in a coup. No one, save the top members of the inquisition, know what they actually faced in this tower but the day after, King Zelos was declared dead.

King Ilgram

King Ilgram was the successor of King Zelos. As Zelos did not have any descendants, it was his cousin who was named king. King Ilgram had already built up a strong support from the repressed nobility and proved to become a beloved king that renewed the realm to its former glory, casting away the darkness that the ghost king had cast over the land.

Chapter 3 – Modern history

King Yorik I

The only information we have about Yorik I, is that he forbid gambling in all the Thaian Kingdom. A law that was later abolished only for Venore by one of his successors King Tibianus II, but we’ll get there. As of current information, it is impossible to properly place him in a specific part of history. However, we know he ruled before King Tibianus II.

King Yorik II*

This is an Unconfirmed king that appears in the tibiaWiki. I could not find any information about the existence of this King in-game. However, as King Yorik I name specifies he is the first of his name, then there must be other King Yoriks succeeding him.

King Yorik II was the king who sealed the entrance to Mintwallin.

…Wait what?!

We need to talk about Kormarak and Mintwallin (Part 2).

TibiaWiki claims that it was the Dwarves who built Mintwallin and this king is the responsible for sealing the entrance to Mintwallin. Again, this is not true.

From the Chronicles of Mintwallin we can learn about the rebellion of the Minotaur Palkar who took some younger Minotaurs who didn’t master the Mooh’Tah philosophy and left the city with them as open enemies to the reign of Markwin.

We can also learn that it was Palkar’s people who dug the tunnels from Mintwallin to the surface. Encountering the Ancient Temple of Banor and there was a human who kept yelling “Tataah!”. When asking the mad mage about a human called Karl, he would answer with “Tataah!”, meaning that the human that Palkar’s soldiers found was Karl. Karl is supposed to be the tavern keeper in Carlin’s sewers. So, from this we can deduce that Karl was there when the minotaurs dug the tunnels to the surface during the times of Tibianus III. That is a very long time after Tibianus I, so it is very unlikely that the humans could have reached Mintwallin during that time and even if they would have, I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t have helped the Minotaurs to seal a Daemon hunting the Minotaurs.

So, who built Mintwallin?

It was the Minotaurs who built Mintwallin. There is absolutely no information that makes us think otherwise. It was not the dwarves who built this place as the architecture of the dwarves is very different from the one in Mintwallin, which now we can say it is Minotaur architecture.

A peaceful bench and a dog where Minotaurs can Mooh’Tah.

When you ask Markwin about Mintwallin, he would say the following:

Anakynsaurio: mintwallin / city

Markwin: The former glorious city lies in the dirt. It is my home. I founded it about 180 years ago, when we found this lovely place.

He does not refer to this lovely place as an abandoned place, or as some ruins, or anything like that.

The minotaurs fought and died defending their home from the Daemons.

Karl is another mysterious dude. When you talk to Karl, he doesn’t strike to be a guy who owns a glowing sword (only glowing sword in that time might have been the Bright Sword), a blue armor (Magic Plate Armor, perhaps?) and green pants made of dragon skin (Dragon Scale legs). Markwin says that he was the man (human) who explored this part of the map first (Mintwallin), and he likes to be announced as a hunter. By this, I believe that Markin means that he was the first human in exploring Mintwallin, while the minotaurs already occupied the place. What is a man like Karl doing in Carlin struggling with female oppression and getting ripped off by a smuggler-thief like Todd? What is he hiding by playing a fool?

King Tibianus II

To commence with modern history, we must talk about King Tibianus II. King Tibianus II had a rather particular way of dealing with the kingdom’s problems. The Nightmare Knights were a constant source of trouble due to their prophecies of doom and frightening the good citizens of Thais with their stories. To solve this problem, Tibianus II decided to trick the order of the Nightmare Knights to prove their strength by stablishing their headquarters in the Fair plains. Taking the doubtlessly strong order of the Nightmare Knights based in the fair plains, which was in the way to a huge area of swamps, the king saw the opportunity to build a new city and use the Nightmare Knights as a shield to the city. In addition, to build the city, he sent criminals from the kingdom to Venore to work, briefly becoming a criminal colony. As the king saw the city was growing and the mages and druids drove away the poisonous creatures, he decided to move the criminals out of Venore to west of the fair plains to build a cathedral, which is the origins of today’s so-called The Dark Cathedral. Once the king moved the criminals away from Venore, this brilliant man signed the free trade agreement for Venore which included a gambling license, becoming Venore the only city with that kind of permissions, allowing it to economically grow faster than any other city.  Venore is known to have fearless captains who would sail anywhere. Even dangerous routes such as Venore – Darashia, which is haunted by a ghost ship. With this master plan, King Tibianus II gained complete Thaian dominion to the south-eastern region of the Tibia Continent.

King Xenom

King Tibianus II’s successor was King Xenom, as documented in the book Knightly Succesor Orders of Tibia I. King Xenom received a strong Thaian empire with several military organizations, such as the Nightmare Nights, The Inquisition, the Royal Army, The Red Legion, and three of the most famous Knights and their orders Oberon, Kesar, and Scarlett; the Etzels.

Following Tibianus II’s footsteps, King Xenom sought to increase the Thaian empire even more by building a new city north of the realm. This city would be an example of Thaian greatness, and it was planned by famous architects and built by the finest craftsmen.

A sketch of the city of Carlin, imagined by King Xenom.

However, this city was continuously attacked by orcs that roamed the lands nearby, making it very difficult for the city thrive, so most of the people left the site for good. King Xenom firm with his whim to build the city, started sending criminals as forced laborers so the building process could continue. He also sent his finest army, The Red Legion, to keep the peace and safety of the construction site. He expelled from Thais some free thinkers, philosophers, druids, and noble families that were unwanted in the capital. Along with these people, there was Elorana, the King’s sister.

The Red Legion defending from the orcs the northern gate of Carlin’s construction site.

As the construction of a castle to the north of Carlin kept needing more men (most likely what now it is the Queen’s castle), the women of carlin had to learn more crafts needed to run the city. Elorana gained more and more influence until along with some huntresses, started attacking the bases of the red legion in the night. They would steal food and supplies from the red legion to give away within the citizens. One day, the general of the red legion decided to extinguish the orcish base once and for all, so they used a few rustic boats to sail to the orcish base which was in an island and taking them unprevented, they slaughtered them. For some reason, a third part of the red legion men died in the journey back.

Only a third part of the mighty Red Legion made it back to Carlin.

The outcome of this event was that Elorana, the King’s sister, along with her followers, the druids, and some huntresses, sabotaged the red legion’s base, while the orcs prepared their bloody revenge by allying with some cyclops and renegade minotaurs. The alliance marched against the red legion and after a bloody fight, and the aid of Elorana’s people, the red legion was slaughtered.

Through a clever plan from the druids and huntresses, they attacked the orcs by surprise and considerably lowered the orcish forces, also, some druids that were hidden disguised as orcs attacked the minitours who were still attacking the construction site. This caused that the minotaurs, the cyclops and the orcs attacked each other weakening their forces enough to let the Carlin remaining fighters to repel the attack. With the Thaian forces now gone, Carlin got its independency and became a kingdom ruled only by women, naming Elorana the first Queen of Carlin.

The Nightmare Knights story is as fascinating that it deserves its own research. Why bothering explaining it again when you can see Meadek’s video (Tibia Lore – The order of the Nightmare Knights). However, lets focus on the importance of this honorably order was gone during the reign of King Xenom. We can know that this happened during King Xenom’s reign because the Knightwatch tower has a teleport to Carlin. As the watchtower was built before the events of Falnus’ betrayal.

Imagen que contiene edificio, cerca, exterior, frente

Descripción generada automáticamente

We also know that these events happened before Tibianus III because of the story of the Black Knight. As we all know, The Black Knight was a general for the Thaian Royal Army. He and his men were hunting a specific witch named Wyda. The persecution led them to Carlin, where they burnt someone who turned out to be an innocent girl. Then they spotted Wyda in Femour Hills as if she was in a hurry to get somewhere. The general and his men decided to prepare an ambush in the Dwarf Bridge, but when Wyda got there, she managed to escape and went deep into the Green Claw Swamp. The general ended up building a house close to Wyda to watch her closely when a huge earthquake sunk his house. This earthquake was the same one generated by Fermubas, daughter of Goshnar and mother of Ferumbras, after seeing her own father being killed in battle by the Nightmare Knights.

One of The Black Knight’s men, Sir Fred Mothbone, was named a Royal Explorer by King Tibianus II. Unfortunately, we know this because we can find Sir Fred Mothbone’s body in the Green Claw Swamp close by Wyda’s hideout. Suggesting she was who killed him. Ergo, the Nightmare Knights great battle in Plains of Havoc and Black Knight’s events happened after King Tibianus II (Close enough for Sir Fred Mothbone to be a fully grown man named royal explorer by King Tibianus II), and after Carlin was built during King Xenom’s reign, but before Tibianus III, who don’t seem to be linked at all.

As for Oberon, Scarlett, and Kesar, they left the Thaian kingdom long before the end of King Xenom’s reign due to some unknown disputes with King Xenom. By the last days of King Xenom, the Thaian empire had already lost The Red Legion, The Nightmare Knights and the Falcon, Lion and Cobra orders, becoming Xenom, in my opinion the second worst King the the Thaian empire ever had.

King Tibianus III

The current King of Thais is King Tibianus III. He has been battling his own fights. Not long ago, Tibianus III had to deal with the attacks of one of the fiercest mages ever touched the grounds of Tibia. Ferumbras, son of Fermubas and grandson of Goshnar, the necromant King, attacked Thais wreaking havoc within the city. Many dead by his hand rose a general fear on most of Tibia inhabitants.

The first humans that walked on west side of Tiquanda jungle came here by accident. Travelling to Thais, a few sailors from Venore were shipwrecked by a heavy storm and found shelter on the hitherto unknown coast of Tiquanda.

King Tibianus III’s statue

Roshamuul has been discovered and deeply explored by the Inquisition on behalf of the King’s name.

The Nightmare Knights learnt about dream walking from the Teshial Elves. But where did they learn about it? Where are the Teshials? Would it be that the Nightmare Knights met the Teshial elves and learned about dreamwalking on this land?

The Nightmare Knights says the Inquisition came late to the party.

King Tibianus has been struggling against rebels popping up against Thais. There seems to be a Venorean conspiracy as an open rebellion in Thais (see TibiaSecrets article “REBELLION IN THAIS”.

Topsy/Turvy got rid of their boss.

Carlin and Venore under their secret agencies are exhuming tombs in the isle of Kings to get important tokens and information from dead kings.

Liberty Bay does not love to be part of the Thaian Kingdom because of the socio-economical differences between the natives and the Thaian noblemen living in Liberty Bay.

The Soulvortex was found in Rookgaard island and King Tibianus III’s explorers built the base to protect and train the incoming soul-heroes (us).

Bonus Chapter – Human race

After the Kha’Labal war, all except Ankrahmun’s fortification were completely destroyed and burned down to ashes. What once was known as the Kha’Labal paradise became what we now know as the Darama desert. Humanity’s options were to either stay in Ankrahmun and starve to death or leave the Island to find a new home for humanity. Banor and his people did leave the island and spread humanity through the whole world. These are some of the human settlements we can find away from the Thaian empire.

Ankrahmun

What we now know as Ankrahmun, the undead city, does not hold all the memories from the first people who settled in Ankrahmun after the exodus. These people forgot about the first pharaohs and the ancient traditions of the desert spirits in order to pursue The Ascension. Horestis information is only available inside his tomb and talking to An Ancient Priest. No information is available inside the vast libraries of Ankrahmun, also the information about The Founders and the exodus is only found in the libraries from the Djinns, as we know, the Djinss hate humans and won’t let simple humans to access their libraries. That’s why Rahkem doesn’t know which civilization built Ankrahmun and the pyramids, as this information is unavailable for him. So, we must separate the Ankrahmunian civilizations in three:

Ankrahmun has had two civilizations and an undead civilization:

  1. The Founders
    1. Lived and thrived in Kha’Labal paradise.
    2. Built the Ankrahmunian fortifications and pyramids.
    3. Fought the Kha’Labal war.
    4. Saw Kha’Labal paradise get destroyed in the war becoming a desert.
    5. Left Ankrahmun in the exodus.
  2. The Dynasty
    1. Lived in the Jungle, west to Kha’Zeel mountains.
    2. Were hunted by the Lizards as a sport.
    3. Fleeing from the lizard might, they ventured east to the desert and found Ankrahmun, settled in and thrived in arts and science.
    4. Learned from the desert spirits.
    5. Horestis was the pharaoh who united the desert tribes.
    6. Built the caves which were temples and eventually became tombs for their most important leaders.
  3. The Undead
    1. Started following the secrets of the envious and reclusive scarab spirit.
    2. Abandoned the caves where their important leaders were buried.
    3. Forgot about the rest of the spirits and the spirits forgot about humans.
    4. Arkhothep filled his people’s minds with promises of ascension.

What is that shiny object? Oh, its just Mirius’ head.

Now then, which of these three civilizations built the Serpentine Tower?

My best guess would be that it was the undead civilization who built (or put the secrets in) the Serpentine Tower, as the research papers seem to be reports for Arkhothep. Besides, the water, slime, and blood seem to be recent.

Kilmaresh

When the continent of Kilmaresh and Krailos were still connected, there was a human empire that thrived in that land. However, there was a religious dispute on which god was best worth to worship. Either Suon, or Fafnar, both sun gods. The war was ended by a major natural disaster that separated both lands of Krailos and Kilmaresh. The ogres took this opportunity to conquer the land mass of Krailos and destroyed all the human civilization from there.

As of Kilmaresh (now known as Issavi), it was not the humans but the Anuma who thived after this event. Even though many humans still lived there. The humans kept having disputes on which was the right god to worship, entering now the worship to Bastesh. So, they now had three religions: Cult to Suon, Cult to Bastesh, Cult to Bastesh and Suon.

The Anuma forbid the Cult to Fafnar, as it was considered an evil god because of his jealousy to Bastesh. But the Cult to Fafnar outlasted in the hiding and is hoping for the return of the Wild Sun for centuries. Right now, it is a place ruled by the Anuma, but with important human presence.

Hrodmir

The Ice islands have a very extensive, mysterious, and fantastic lore, which deserves its own 7500 words. This place is still the home of the Barbarian civilization. Even though nowadays some Barbarians became way more civilized, these humans conquered the roughness of the Ice Islands and formed their own traditions and way of living.

Something big should have happened here for humans in this place won’t praise to Banor but to Chyll, given that Hrodmir may have been one of the first places Banor and his people set foot after the Kha’Labal exodus.

Zao

There is a very primitive tribe living in Zao for a long time. The language of this tribe is different from the common tongue, but they can communicate with us. They call the common tongue as the holy language only spoken by leaders and priests. By talking to them we can learn that they know the same gods as the rest of humans, but slightly different:

Anakynsaurio: gods

Lazaran: We know many gods. Pandor, god of war, Uzroth, god of spirits, Krunus, god of food and Fasuon, watcher with two burning eyes. You see, we know many gods, more than I can count.

Pandor, God of War = Banor

Uzroth, God of spirits = Urgith + Zathroth

Krunus, God of food = Kirok + Crunor

Fasuon, watcher with two burning eyes = Fafnar + Suon

The trick is to pretend you actually understand them.

Oramond

Oramond is an island founded by the Yalahari. After some mysterious events, the Yalahari abandoned Oramond. Years later some humans found this place and stablished a settlement there. They formed their own way of government and have been living there since then.

Vandura isle – Shattered islands / Pirates

Probably the closest to the current human civilizations were the Vandura citizens, Before the annex of Liberty Bay to the Thaian Kingdom, Vandura citizens were mainly pirates living away from any form of government.

Have you ever seen a demon?

Conclusions and theories

Flora (Conclusion)

The NPC Flora in Oramond is not the recipient of the letter written by Dager “Court Visit”. This letter was written during the reign of King Rodmund II, which was many many generations ago. The NPC Flora in Oramond either has hundreds of years making her a Vampire, or simply it’s a different person. Besides, Oramond was found and explored by the Nightmare Knights (link to the Thaian empire) when they were already based on the Fair Plains. So, the recipient original Flora should not even be related to Oramond at all.

Count Allstio (Theory)

Count Allstio may have bitten both King Rodmund II and his father. As we know King Rodmund II has always been a sickly child and carried this condition until his last times as he never showed strength to his enemies who kept trying to kill him.

What was a Vampire lord doing in the king’s court?

This might seem farfetched, but one of the caves in Ghostlands seems to be very close to the crypt where all kings are buried. The cave is very similar in structure as the tomb’s crypt. There we can find an unreachable vampire sealed off. Would this be King Rodmund II, or his father?

Global Undead rise (Theory)

Everywhere you can find a grave or a coffin or a tomb, there are undead creatures surrounding it. Even if there are no necromancers or bonelords nearby. The Isle of Kings is a good example of this phenomenon. It would seem that at some point in modern history, some global event happened which caused the rise of several undead creatures without a master. Would you bury your king in a tomb where there are many undead surrounding the place?

As of now, we still don’t know what spell Fermubas cast to cause the earthquake, but coming from the daughter of the necromant king, I would say her spell brought all the dead back to life in the whole world (Same vibes as Gohan being more powerful than Goku without training).

Time is useless in Tibia (Conclusion)

There are many attempts to understand time in Tibia. However, from my point of view, time is completely useless, except for day and night scenarios needed for some quests. Beyond that, we can see how time is disregarded following the logic of certain events.

For example, Markwin founded Mintwallin 180 years ago, and has been king of the Minotaurs for 320 years. However, if you come a year later, it would still be the same number of years.

If we count the number of days and night cycles that happen in Tibia, it would be something like this:

1 rl hour = 24 Tibian hours (1 day)

24 rl hours = 576 tibian hours (1.57 years)

1 rl year = 573 tibian years

We know King Tibianus III since 1999. That’s almost 25 rl years.

25 rl years = 14,326 tibian years.

King Zelos had an “unnatural 98 years long reign”. Suggesting that humans won’t live that much if not for arcane unholy rituals. Ergo, King Tibianus III and most of NPCs in Thais would be long gone by now. This is a Role Play Game after all.

It would be nice to have all tibia known events located in a chart presented as a timeline, as presented here for the Thaian Kings.
